Support

MooreMountainnering is kindly supported by the Lake District based equipment manufacturer Aiguille Alpine Equipment.

Well known for producing extremely high quality, long lasting and functional rucksacks and other textile equipment, Aiguille has long bucked the trend of exporting manufacture to cheaper overseas factories and still produces all of their products in their small workshop in Staveley, Cumbria were they also have a factory shop outlet.

Aiguille has provided us with some of their rucksacks which we we will no doubt be sporting on our days out! In return we give them product feedback and modification/improvement ideas (of which there is very little!).

Below are Chris' 3 favourite Aiguille sacs.

El Nino - 27ltrs

My go to pack for days out climbing/scrambling in summer where I generally carry pretty much the same kit every time - It all fits in perfectly, with a few internal zipped pockets to keep car keys/maps/food etc. easy to find.

Very nice to climb with as it packs down small and can be easily sinched up your back to provide access to the back of a harness/chalk bag.

Eiger - 33ltrs

Whenever I need to carry a bit more - prehaps an overnight bivi on the Cuillin, or the extra clothing required when climbing in Winter - the Eiger will bemy choice. With a 30ltr capacity it also has a large roll top valance allowing me to stuff my extra jackets or layers in for the walk in whilst still collapsing down to a very managable size for climbing with.

Zephyr 47(+10)ltrs

The big one! The biggest "alpine/climbing" sac Aiguille make before entering their really big load carrying hiking/expedition rucksack range I use this bag for either hauling in lots of kit for a few overnight stays with climbing gear or also when I'm just going cragging. If I'm not going climbing with my rucksack, and might be carrying a few ropes and rack as well as layers, food and the all important 1ltr flask of tea, this ticks the box as a super comfy, rugged and very user friendly pack.
